Your music, in its place.
Keep the tracks you love close and get back to listening without the clutter.
A music player made to feel like yours. Settle into your library, make the most of your listening, and bring your people along for the ride.
Music is personal. The player should be too. Vaanam Music is being built around the small things that make listening feel right.
Keep the tracks you love close and get back to listening without the clutter.
A considered listening experience, made for everyday use.
Start a Listen Together session and bring friends into the moment, even when they're somewhere else.
How it works ↗Get Vaanam Music for Android. Releases are pulled from the project's GitHub Releases, so this page stays in step with new builds.
Start a listening session, invite a friend, and enjoy the same moment from different places. Both listeners need a compatible Vaanam Music build with Listen Together support.
Install a Vaanam Music build that includes Listen Together.
Find Listen Together in the app and create a room.
Share the room code or invite link shown by the app. Friends should use a compatible Vaanam Music version.
Join the same room and test playback, pause, and track changes. Available controls depend on your app build.
wss://pragyan.pravanix.me/wsServer URL is shown for compatible builds configured to use this endpoint. A successful health check confirms service availability, not that every app version supports this server.
Small improvements add up. Follow the latest release notes and development activity straight from the repository.
Vaanam Music is an independent project. New builds, fixes and features will show up here as they're released.
Follow on GitHub ↗Listen to music together from different places. One phone hosts the room, the other joins with a room code. Both phones need an internet connection, but they can use different networks.
Use exactly this same WebSocket server on both phones. Do not enter the health-check URL.
Open Settings → Listen Together → Server URL. Select VaanamMusic, or enter the custom server shown above. Make sure both phones use exactly the same address.
In the same settings screen, tap Username and save a display name for each participant.
You do not need a separate Listen Together account for these display names.
Tap Create room, confirm your username, and create the room. The app should display an 8-character room code. Keep the room open while your friend joins.
Tap Join room, enter the code displayed on Phone 1, confirm the guest username, and join the room.
Check the room screen or notifications for the join request. Tap Approve. Both phones should then show the same room and its participants.
On Phone 1, search for and play an ordinary online song. For the first test, choose a song neither phone has downloaded. Let both phones finish buffering; audio should play on both devices.
Initially, control playback from the host phone:
The server coordinates track information and playback timing. Each phone streams or downloads its own audio, so both need a working music connection. Small timing differences can occur while a device buffers.
Check the server URL and open the app's Logs to inspect the error.
Check Phone 1 for the join request and approve it if prompted.
Verify that both phones use the same server, then enter the room code again.
Check media volume, Bluetooth audio output, and whether the song plays normally on that phone.
Allow VaanamMusic background activity in Android battery settings, then try again.
Download the APK from the latest release, open it on your Android device, and follow Android's installation prompts. You may need to allow installs from your browser or file manager. Only install APKs you trust.
Android can show a warning when installing apps outside the Play Store. Check the release source and any published checksum before installing. This site does not claim that builds have been independently audited.
Download the newest release and install it over the existing app if Android accepts the same signing key. If the signing key differs, Android may require uninstalling the old build first; that can remove local app data.
Yes! Vaanam Music is free to use.
